Know Your Place

For the last week in social Studies we have been working on a slide about some different places in New Zealand and some important things in those places. The two places that I picked were Kaikoura's Sperm Whales and Hornby High School. I started off by talking about what where the Sperm Whales live and what they eat as well as where they are on the food chain. For Hornby High I just started by talking about when the school was getting built and where it is in Hornby. In Kaikoura I also wrote about their history with the whales and the dolphins and how they still do the Whale watch and the dolphin encounter. an interesting fact I found out about Kaikoura was that they have a small cottage on a hill which is built on Whale Bones. I also found out that Hornby High School building was delayed for a year because of complications. In the Prezzie I could of added a little bit more information about Hornby High School but I could not really find much about the school.

Social Studies Time Line

A couple of weeks ago in Social Studies we had to research about our time and then make a time line on what happened in that time. This could be first things made ever or it could be a very important event.
 

How Has technology Changed Peoples Lives?

For the last week in social study's we have been working on finding out what different technology has changed and if has had a positive change on people or a negative change. We also had to say what the technology looked like before it changed and then explain how it has changed.

Social Study's Matariki

1 What went well and why? It went well because we got a lot of helpful information that gives a lot of reasons why the queens birthday should be replaced with matariki and why matariki should be a public holiday in NZ.

2 What didn’t go so well and why? After we wrote down and answered all of the questions we still had a lot of spare spaces which is why we drew the stars.

3 If you were to do this again what would you do differently and why? Take more time doing it and not as much on the research because at the end we were in a rush because we took to much time researching than actually doing the work.
