Today in gymnastics I did the beat board the bar and the balance beam I completed the balance beam and beat board but hopefully next time I can do the bar.

Dear Elizabeth

Thank you for taking us on a tour around Orana Wildlife Park. I thought it was a really awesome trip to go on. People were asking a lot of questions about all of the animals so I found out a lot of information about all the animals as we went on our tour.

I really enjoyed seeing the gorillas chase each other out of the enclosure and the youngest sneaking in to eat some food before they came back. Another thing I really enjoyed was feeding the giraffes and watching the Rhinos go into the enclosure. I liked seeing the Kiwis digging for food . I thought it was awesome when one of the keas came right up to me because when you usually get close to bird they fly away.

I Really liked the cheetah patterns and the way that they would keep going up and down the fence. I also can’t believe that the tasmanian devil is the same species as a kangaroo because it has a pouch to carry all its babys. I thought it was awesome that with gorillas the oldest eats first then the second oldest eats and then the youngest eats, this was a very interesting fact. I learnt that giraffes have purple tongues so that when they are eating in the sun all day it does not get sunburnt.

One of the facts I learnt is that the Cheetah can go 0-60 in around 3 seconds. Also if they are chasing there prey they have to catch it in between 40-50 seconds or they give up and have a sleep so they can consume all their energy. Once cheetahs wake up they would go and hunt for something else to eat.   

Even though I did not see all of my Favorite animals I was still happy to see the Cheetahs, Gorillas, Rhinos, Tasmanian Devils, Kiwis, Keas, Lions, Tiger, Giraffes, Waterbucks and the Water Buffalo. Once again I would like to thank you for taking us around Orana Wildlife Park. I have learnt so much and I can’t wait to come back again.

I think scooters should be banned

Reasons:

1. The rebuild is taking up a lot of space, and there is too much crowding. That means a lot more people could get injuries.
2. Having scooters in school would make it harder for rules to be followed as they are a distraction.
3. There isn’t anywhere to put your scooter.

Dear Mr Sutton

Now I am going to tell you why I think we should not have scooters at school.

The rebuild is taking up lots of space and there is too much crowding. This means that there are a lot of people in the same spot and if people were scootering around they could crash into a lot of people. I think scooters should be banned because there isn’t enough room to use them safely.

Having scooters in school would make it harder for rules to be followed as they are a distraction. This means things like scootering around the classes so that everyone looks at you or if it is outside your class then someone could get distracted. So to keep students focused scooters should be banned at school.

There is nowhere to put your scooter. If you are in class and your scooter is just outside it is a tripping hazard. Also If there was a fire then people could trip over when they are trying to get out. Having scooters outside the classroom also makes it easier for someone to steal it. So if your scooter is stolen then your parents have to work harder to get you the money to buy a new one.

I believe students should not have scooters at school because it is too crowded, they are a distraction and there is nowhere to put them.

My number one reason that I don’t want scooters to be at this school because someone could get hurt by people doing tricks and racing around the school.

My other reason is that now that the rebuild has started there is not much room for people so they are all in the one place and people could go around there when they are on there scooters and hurt someone.

My third reason I don't want scoters at this school is because all of the construction there are not many paths so they have put down gravel paths. So if someone was scootering really fast and came round the corner and it was a gravel path well 1. They could keep going fast over the gravel and get fail off 2. They could go around and go into a busey places and might hurt someone.
