At the end of this this is what my looks like hope you like it.
Here are some pictures of some tools that I used when I was making this.
These are the vices that we used to hold the metal in place when we ere cutting it.
This is the drill that we used to drill the hole so that we could clip it onto things.
This is what we sued to measure how long our peace of metal was.
This is what we used to imprint the letters into our work
We used the ruler so we could measure we used the scribber and the square to make a strait line.
This is what we did at the start we had to use the scriber and ruler to mark where to cut it.
This is us cutting the metal where we used the scriber to mark out 40mm
We then started to file down to the line that we had made at the 35mm mark.
We then just kept checking how big it was so that we did not go over 35mm.
We then had to drill a hole in the metal so that something could go through it.
Step 2: Take a peace of aluminium and cut it with a hack saw so that is around 38-37 mm long. You then need to put some engineers ink onto one side of the peace of aluminium and mark out where 35 mm is with a scribber on the peace of metal.
Step 4: Once you have taken the metal down to 35 mm if you want to you can make the corners partly round. You then need to get a peace of sand paper and sand your peace of metal and get any marks out of it.
Step 5: Use what letters or numbers you need and use them to make your word on the peace of metal. After you have done that you have to use the buffer wheel but make sure to not put to much polish on your peace of aluminium.
Some things that I found difficult when we were making this are when we were trying to get it down to right size I had to restart because I messed up the first time but the next time I got exactly 35mm. So that I did not mess up again I made sure to keep checking the measurements for the peace of metal and when it got close I started doing little bits at a time.
The main things that I have taken away from this is how to make an ID tag and how to use a lot of tools that I have never used before.
