For the last couple for weeks our science subject has been about matter. We have done a lot of experiments in this topic and I have done blog posts on most of them. Since we have came to the end of the subject and about to move on to another we had to do one last post so I choose to do a blog post about the dry ice experiment hope you enjoy.
Last week my class did a science experiment on dry ice. For this experiment we got a peace of dry ice and put it into a beaker. We then had to put a little bit of water in to the beaker. Once we put the water in it started to turn into gas because there is no liquid carbon dioxide. We call this sublimation because the solid is going strait into a gas because it is more dense than normal air . The gas was very cool because you would be able to tip it out onto a bench and it would spread out then disappear. The try ice took around 5-8 minutes to fully melt and when we looked at the bottom of the beaker there was ice there. When we did our first one we were wondering why it started to bubble. We than found out that there was a little bit of dish detergent in our beaker. The next topic we are doing is going to be waves and energy if you have any questions feel free to ask me. Hope you enjoy
